A Tribute

The Arlington Fly-In has been a huge part of my life. Perhaps even ruling it for years at a time. I started volunteering there in the early 1990’s. Last year was the last show, and we are closing the organization by the end of this year. Recently, I completed a clean-up of all files for the org – and handed two tiny external USB drives to the records custodian (the same each – two for backup – I’m still an IT guy after all LOL) .

Two tiny sticks that fit in your hand contained 56 years of hundreds of volunteers sweat, tears and work.

It’s sad. I could write on this forever. Amazing memories and so many contributions that engaged the community and gave real community benefit. Those are certainly factors of magnitude bigger than ruminating over a tiny little USB drive.

It’s time. Time to move on.

xoxo, Fly-In.
